Moving Education Forward

In an ever-changing, dynamic and complex world, where the 4th industrial revolution has brought upon a wave of change to businesses and homes, it is more critical than ever that schools begin preparing our students for the world of tomorrow.

Future generations need to be equipped with the relevant knowledge and skills to innovate, think critically and creatively, process scientific information and solve complex problems.  All of which are the kinds of skills that are collectively nurtured and cultivated through the incorporation of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) in the classroom.

Statistics tell us that there are currently more than a million job vacancies in the STEM industry, yet only 16% of college students graduate in the STEM Fields.

Education providers play a key role in helping students adapt to these social and economic changes.

In aid of this, The Mancosa School of Education have placed the teacher at the core of this transformation as they rethink the way teaching and learning is done for future generations, through a unique concept called the iTeach Hub.  The iTeach Hub located at the Durban campus aims to develop students for the twenty-first-century classroom.

This will be achieved through the development of STEAM Labs that are designed to allow hands on exploration of concepts and to inspire new and creative ways of teaching and  incorporating STEAM into the curriculum.
